St Albans School is fortunate to have such a rich history and wealth of memories behind each door. In order to preserve this history and share memories of the pupils who walked through our corridors, we have launched our monthly campaign, ‘Old Albanian Memoirs’ - sharing memories from OAs across the decades, all the way up to recent leavers.

Make sure you don’t miss out on any of the memoirs by following this page and our social media. We hope you enjoy reading them and if you would like to share your own memoir, please get in touch with development@st-albans.herts.sch.uk

Judge John S. Merrick, Retired (OA 1960)

We are delighted to share with you the second memoir of this campaign, written by Judge John S. Merrick, Retired (OA 1960). John recollects three of his most prominent memories at School and considers how these revelations have served him well in his career.

Alister Milroy (OA 1952)

We are delighted to share with you the first memoir of this campaign (which you may have read last month in Versa: Issue 9), written by Alister Milroy (OA 1952), who touches on what it was like to be a boarding pupil during the 1940s and 1950s.
