St Albans School
With some 890 pupils, St Albans School is not a particularly large senior school, enabling each pupil to be well-known and valued as an individual. Inspirational teaching ensures strong intellectual development whilst outstanding provision and achievements in the wider curriculum enrich each pupil’s experience.
St Albans School is no one-dimensional academic hothouse, but rather a multi-dimensional institution where academic excellence, intellectual development and strong pastoral care lie at the core of an exceptional holistic education, enabling us to identify and nurture each pupil’s potential. Our fundamental and unremitting focus on our pupils’ wellbeing gives them the self-confidence and self-belief to do, and to give of, their best.
In our historic school at the heart of this vibrant city, our pupils develop important values, qualities and skills, as well as learning an awareness and understanding of the wider world as they determine the contribution they intend to make to it in their adult lives.

St Albans School Foundation
The St Albans School Foundation was established in 2008 with the aim of raising funds in support of the School in three main areas:
The Bursary Fund, which aims to provide access to St Albans School for young people who would be unable to take up their place here without financial assistance
Special Projects, which provide School departments with additional resources that can make a real and immediate benefit to School life. For example, new equipment for the fitness suite, microscopy equipment for the Biology department, and 3D printers for the DT department
Capital Developments, which include a number of building projects on the School site, such as the Corfield Building and the Music School.
The Foundation is run from the School’s Development Office, and has raised almost £10m since its launch in 2008.
"The St Albans School Foundation plays a vital role in the provision of an excellent education at St Albans School. The contributions from parents, Old Albanians and other friends within our community have made an important difference to the facilities and fabric of the School as well as enabling local young students to benefit from a St Albans School education via our bursary (fee assistance) scheme. Bursaries are an important focus of our fundraising and I hope you will consider supporting us for the benefit of future generations of students.”
Sir Roy Gardner, Former Chairman of Governors
St Albans School Foundation has recently launched its Bursary Fund campaign, which aims to provide more transformational opportunities for local young people whose parents wouldn’t otherwise be able to afford our fees.
