Philanthropy plays a crucial role in the ongoing development and success of St Albans School.

Our Funded Places are instrumental in creating a diverse, inclusive, and respectful community that enriches the lives of all pupils, providing them with a world-class education and fostering lifelong friendships.

As a local school, we are committed to keeping fees affordable, widening access to education for a larger part of the community. However, this reliance on affordability necessitates the generosity of our community to maintain our historic site, provide high-quality facilities, and support our Funded Places.

Over the past decade, our supporters have helped transformed the School, funding new facilities and updating existing ones. We aspire to build on this achievement by increasing the number of children supported financially through Funded Places.

We extend our deep gratitude to the OAs, parents, and friends whose vital contributions have made a difference in the lives of future Old Albanians (OAs) and their families.

We have three areas donors can support:

Funded Places (formerly bursaries)

Faculty projects

Thank you for your interest in supporting St Albans School

We love to hear from alumni, parents and friends of St Albans School. If you want to discuss making a donation or volunteering your time, please contact the Development Team.

If you would like to leave a gift in your will, please speak to your solicitor in the first instance. If you have already made provision for the School and would like this to be recognised, please let us know so that you can be a part of our Gateway Society.

OAs living in the USA and Canada are also able to donate, via the British Schools and Universities Foundation (BSUF) and Chapel & York respectively.

Speaking to pupils

We are fortunate to be supported by a warm and generous community that volunteers time and expertise, and frequently welcome back OAs to speak to pupils.

This might be about their career path or degree choice, delivering a lecture or speaking as part of the PSHEE programme. We are also developing our OA profile series to show pupils the phenomenal range of careers that OAs go into. To learn more about volunteering opportunities, please contact the Development Team.
